I bought the Vortex and it's an excellent value. That might be a good place for you guys who own NONE of either to start. I was about to order the Redfield when I read the review.the WHOLE review vs the Vortex review. Just using the NF and MK4 as examples.įor the smart Azz who wished to know how many of each I have. How could anybody read my first post and think I was equating a Redfield with a NF, and do so with a straight face. I was trying to avoid someone criticizing my opinion by using words like "suspect", but I guess I underestimated you. I was simply making the point that for the money, and for the intended market and purposes, I believe they are a good deal. I wasn't saying they are anywhere in the same league. You'd better DAMN SURE hope the Redfield did not track just as well, because that would mean the "tacticool" scopes were a bit over priced? How can anyone with any sense compare a $#150 -$200 Redfield scope with a $1,200 to $1,500 Tactical scope like the Nightforce or MK4 with a straight face. I suspect that the tracking on the rifle scope won't be as true as with a NF or a MK4, but for hunting, who cares? If the crosshairs stay where you put them and the lenses aren't fogged up you're good to go. For the money, I was very impressed with the rifle scopes, spotters, and the binos.
